It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.

I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think.

I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.

Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.

See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.

Until it was too late.

The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.

They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.

The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man…

And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.

By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.

My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?

Having all my dreams come true.

Random Acts of Crazy: Opposites Attract Small Town Romantic Comedy (Random Series, Book 1)

Narrated by Andi Arndt, Sebastian York, and Tad Branson

I never intended to pick up a naked hitchhiker wearing nothing but a guitar. A guitar. Really.

I don’t collect guys like that (don’t ask what kind of guys I do collect), but when you spot a blond, tanned, sculpted man with a gorgeous smile and his thumb poking up and practically begging you to stop – you stop.

And I definitely never thought I’d be staring into the bright blue eyes of Trevor Connor, the lead singer for Random Acts of Crazy, an indie rock star I followed like the slobbering fileshare fangirl I am. How he came to be nude and lost 600 miles from home is quite the tale, but how we fell in love is even more unreal.

Because someone like Trevor Connor, headed to Harvard Law next year, isn’t supposed to want someone like me, a rural Ohio chick majoring in boredom at Convenience Store University who is all curves and frizzy blonde hair and manners so unpolished they have sharp edges that make you bleed.

But he did.

When his best friend, Joe Ross, the bass player for Random Acts of Crazy and a man who makes Calvin Klein models look like Shrek, drove 11 hours through the night to rescue him, though, it got real complicated. It’s one thing to like two different guys and be torn.

What do you do, though, when maybe – just maybe – you don’t have to choose?

Random Acts of Crazy (a New York Times and USA Today best seller) is a stand-alone, full-length novel that explores issues of identity for the three main characters and doesn’t shy away from mature content. Plus, Darla has a sailor’s mouth.

Be warned. Be ready. But most of all – prepare to be random.

Gretchen Galway Rom-com trilogy just 99¢

Escape to Northern California with a trilogy of sexy, light-hearted romantic comedies. This boxed set includes the first three novels of Gretchen Galway’s best-selling Oakland Hills series, a total of over 1,000 pages, including:

LOVE HANDLES
The world of fitness apparel isn’t ready for Beverly Lewis. She hates the gym, is nice to everybody, and shops at Ross Dress for Less. When she’s not teaching preschool, she’s wearing yoga pants . . . to nap in. So when she inherits her estranged grandfather’s fitnesswear company in San Francisco, nobody expects her to keep it. Fite Fitness needs a heartless suit to save it from bankruptcy, not a thirty-year-old woman who cries when her students leave for kindergarten. Someone like Liam Johnson. A former Olympic swimmer, Liam is Fite’s executive vice president. Unlike Bev, he’s devoted his life to Fite’s success. Managing one little preschool teacher–and his attraction to her–shouldn’t be an issue. Right?

THIS TIME NEXT DOOR
Twenty-six-year-old Rose Devlin may shop in the plus-size department, but she’s never had a problem attracting men–with disastrous consequences. Recovering from her latest mistake, Rose has sworn off casual sex and moved to California to grow up, help her best friend, and make something of herself. When Rose asks the cute-but-geeky guy next door to help her land a job in high tech, she never expects to unearth his quiet strength, stunning accomplishments–and hidden talents. With a secret in her own past, Rose tries to keep her distance, but she finds that nerdy Mark isn’t so nerdy when the lights go out. And that maybe, just maybe, she’s not too grown up to risk one more disaster…

NOT QUITE PERFECT
Serial temp worker April Johnson is nothing like her wildly successful brothers. She doesn’t have an Olympic gold medal. She doesn’t have millions in the bank from a tech company she founded as a teenager. She doesn’t even have a place to live, not since her boyfriend sneaked off in the middle of the night—skipping out on the rent, his three-legged dog, and her. Now forced to move back home with her mother and grovel for a job from one of her brothers, April decides it’s past time she got serious about her life. Zack Fain, on the other hand, has been too serious for years. After losing his wife to cancer at the age of twenty-six, he’s done nothing but work on his consulting business. But when he meets April at a new job, he forgets he’s a humorless suit who never gets emotionally involved. She makes him laugh, she turns him on, and he begins to wonder if it’s time he broke a few rules.

What I’m Reading: Big Pickle by JJ Knight

Big Pickle is a hilarious romantic comedy that hooked me from the start. I laughed out loud, I smiled slyly, I rooted for Nova and Jace, and I loved slipping into the world JJ Knight created. It’s always a pleasure to find an authentic, funny, hot new series to sink into and Big Pickle is the start of something wonderful.

When you find a book that lets the characters themselves tell you their unique story, it’s such a joy. Big Pickle invites you into the inner workings of a deli, the store itself becoming a character in JJ KNight’s newest romantic comedy. Nova and Jace are well-developed people who find their way to love, one perfectly-chopped onion at a time. JJ Knight has another hit on her hands!

Big Pickle starts with one heck of a “meet-cuke!” – Julia Kent, New York Times bestselling author

If you haven’t read my friend JJ KNight’s newest book, you’re missing out!! <3

BIG PICKLE by JJ Knight

He’s kind of a big dill.
A secret boss rom com from USA Today bestselling author JJ Knight

They call me Big Pickle. It’s not what you think.
(Although that’s true too.)

I happen to be the oldest Pickle in the family deli business.
And we have the best salami.
Take that one however you like.

But when my father announces the franchise will go to the most profitable of the three brothers, I learn that even though I’m the eldest Pickle, I’m dead last.

I hightail it to Texas to see what’s happened to my restaurant, only to find a sassy little spitfire named Nova Strong in charge.

She’s amazing. She’s sexy. She runs our deli like she owns it.

But despite the way we nearly melt the permafrost in the industrial freezer, I have to control myself. Nova thinks I’m a new employee. She has no idea I’m only there to spy.

Or that I’m her boss.

As I get to the bottom of why my franchise is failing, I desperately need to know one thing:

Is Nova Strong everything wrong with my deli, or everything right for me?

___
Big Pickle is a full-length, 300-page standalone romantic comedy full of pickle jokes, giggle-worthy references to male anatomy, and more salty language than a jar of baby dills.

Colton (Kentucky Green Book 1) by Olivia Sands is FREE

She’s all wrong for him.
So why can’t he stop thinking about her?

Colton Green knows exactly what he’s going to do with his life. He’ll run the Red Widow Bourbon factory—a business that’s been in his family for generations—build a beautiful home, marry a nice country girl, and start a family.

Then he meets Grace Baker, and all his plans go out the window. She’s the last woman he should want: a big-city lawyer who’s accepted a case against his best friend. There’s no reason to think she plans to stay in Elm Ridge, let alone that she wants to settle down with the likes of him. Still, he’s drawn to her like he’s never been to anyone.

Grace Baker is trying to put her life back together after the disastrous end of her marriage. She needs to heal, not fall headlong into a new relationship. Colton may be easy on the eyes, but the last thing she’s looking for is romance.

Besides, Grace knows she’s a bad bet all around. A close-knit family like the Greens is something she’s never experienced, and she doesn’t belong in their world … no matter how much it makes her heart yearn.

Can Colton put aside his preconceptions for the woman who just might be perfect for him? And can Grace let herself believe she’s worthy of real love?

Excerpt from Crank by Adriana Locke

Sucking up my pride, I try to shake him off. He just squeezes my forearm firmly until its clear I’m not going to move. Then he eases up.

“I don’t mean it like that.” He moves himself so we’re face-to-face.

“I think you do. I’m beginning to think a whole lot of what I see sometimes is more hope than reality.”

“What do you think you see?” he asks, taking another step so I’m almost standing between his legs.

“Stop this,” I whisper, my voice as shaky as I feel.

“Why?”

“It’s confusing. I can’t read you.”

He catches my chin with his hand, lifting it so I’m looking at him. His Adam’s apple bobs as he forces a swallow, his delicious lips parting with a small sigh. “Can you read this?”

“Wha—”

His lips capture the rest of the words from mine as his mouth covers my own.
